Description: You are bidding on a BEAUTIFUL used example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht Fu.H.E.b - Funkhorchempfänger b "Horst B" (Fu Horch B) Radio Monitoring Receiver, as used throughout most branches of the military throughout the war! Introduced in October 1939, the Fu.H.E.b is a general-purpose, portable, up-to-date (for 1940) super-heterodyne monitoring receiver of die-cast light alloy and sheet aluminum elaborately designed. It operates on an intermediate frequency of 605.5 KHz and consists of two HF amplification stages, frequency changer, separate oscillator, three IF stages, amplifying grid detector, output tube and heterodyne oscillator. A rotating turret carries the HF and oscillator tank circuits - 4 sets of 4 tank circuits each; inductance adjustment is by threaded iron cores in the antenna and HF plate coils and by a copper slug in the oscillator coils; parallel trimming is by variable ceramic capacitors and oscillator padding by fixed tubular ceramics. It was used for enemy intercept service, security monitor service, and for standby & information service on German frequencies. The set covers the frequency band 875 - 3750 KHz in 4 bands. The actual coverage of each sub-band is as follows: ( Band l ) 850-1250kHz ( Band 2 ) 1250-1800kHz ( Band 3 ) 1800-2600kHz ( Band 4) 2600-3800kHz Made of aluminum and steel, this Fu.H.E.b Radio Monitoring Receiver is in SUPERB used condition! Though there are some marks, scratches, dents and wear to the outer casing, it still retains 98% of its original EARLY wartime paint on the radio itself! Though there are some tiny screws missing internally, it is otherwise 100% complete! I have not tested it for electrical functionality, but it should be a good candidate for anyone wishing to get it to work. All switches and dials work as they should, however one knob is stuck (will probably just need some lubrication). The small access door is missing from the side of the case, however, originals (and reproductions) come up quite frequently, as they are often missing. A VERY RARE radio it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display! Note that as this weighs approx. 60lbs., I have ESTIMATED a general shipping cost. A more accurate shipping cost will be calculated at the end of the auction, based on the winning bidder's address.
