This vase dates to the 1960s and has a wonderful, earthy glaze which has dripped and pooled around its beautiful form. The ribbing to the neck highlights this superbly. The vase certainly has strong elements inspired by mid-century modern design fused seamlessly with retro appeal. Steuler has incorporated a wonderful textured glaze to the lower half of the vase below the waved band. This compliments the earthy glaze perfectly. The inside of the vase has been finished with a deep brown glaze. This highlights the bold form of the rim and also makes for easy cleaning. The underside of the vase has an impressed Steuler Keramic logo as well as 418/25. Size & Weight This quality West German vase stands 24cm in height and measures 17.5cm in diameter at its widest point which is the waved band. It weighs 1.6kg. Condition Presented in superb vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Some ultra, light nibbling to the glaze on the edge of the base which is noticeable only upon ultra close inspection. It in no way detracts from this beautiful piece whilst on display and I am mentioning this for accuracy only. The glaze remains in superb condition!!!
