Description: For sale is a french made steel frame from the late 1960s, early 1970s. The builder of this frame remainsa mystery as the build quality is highly refined but there are no clues to the original manufacturer. In the 1960s, France was booming with master frame builders, many of whom were small shops that produced limited quantities for local riders or teams. This frame has particularities starting from the thin lugs with cut outs, drilled drop outs, or fish mouth fork endw. The drop outs are Simplex, the shifter braze ons are Simplex dedicated (integral part of the shifters' set). The seat post clamp diameter is 26.2mm.Rear drop out spacing is 120mm. The fork has the aero Fork crown, probably designed by Cinelli. Very ahead of it's time for a late 1960s frame. Also, I've notived the chain stays are aero shaped, similar to higher end bikes from Italy. The bicycle was fitted with Simplex SLJ drive train, Stronglight crank set and Mafac Competition brakes. The frame weighs around 1900g at 56cm size. For sale is the frame and fork, without the headset.
