Description: I wish I had more information to give on this piece. I have spoken to several people that are knowledgeable in this type of artwork and nobody was able to give me any definitive specifics about it. Most did feel it is either a single panel cartoon or advertisement. All agreed that it looks to be from the 1950s or 1960s. I was able to confirm that it is live ink. There are even visible white out marks (I highlighted those in the pictures). More than a few people said they thought it resembled an old Playboy single panel cartoon. A couple thought it resemled the art of Jack Cole. Cole did draw single panel cartoons from Playboy in the 1950s. Though I agree that it does look similar to his work, I do not feel the woman is indicative of his usual portrayals of women in the Playboy cartoons he drew. The sketch measures 7.75 inches in length and 14.75 inches in height and is in good condition with some yellowing along the edges. This original sketch appears to have been drawn sometime in the 1950s or 60s, judging by the content. The sketch is not signed and does not come with a certificate of authenticity (COA), but is most definitely a vintage, original piece.
