Description: Stunning vintage Marc Bellaire original ceramic large three footed bowl. Never used as a serving bowl, it was table piece display. The pattern is Marc Bellaire's Bird Isle. Highly collectible and rare. The photos picked up bright light reflection. His signature Bellaire is on the front, on back underside in Black diamond of the bowl is his signature, Calif., Bird Isle 78-10. No damage, the white areas are from light glare. Marc Bellaire studied at the Toledo Museum of Art while working at the Libby Glass Company. He moved to California in the early 1950s. He was a protege of Sascha Brastoff and worked in his studio and factory. He opened his own studio and began a prolific production of wonderful ceramic art and useful pieces. The Bird Isle pattern is highly collectable. The bowl is in excellent condition, no chips, cracks or damage. The bottom of the three feet are not glazed intentionally (likely where it sat on shelf in the kiln. Measures 10 1/4" in length, width is approximately 8 3/4" at the bottom area, the top of bowl ends are raised and are approx. 4" high, and the bottom is approx. 2 3/4" high. Items are from our family estate; I am not a jeweler or dealer. I do not clean the items as buyers typically want vintage condition or will prefer cleaning themselves. This item is quite clean.
