Description: Vintage Constantin Westchiloff Oil on Canvas Painting Amalfi Coast Beautiful!. Constantin Westchiloff was born in Russia in 1878 and studied art in St Petersburg where he went on to exhibit works and win competitions until he emigrated from Soviet Russia in 1922. He then lived in Italy until 1928 then in France 1929-1936. He then moved to New York City where he had a studio and continued to paint until his death in 1945. His works are exhibited in museums around the world including the Metropolitan Museum in New York. This is a lovely and vibrant Impressionistic oil on canvas painting of the isle of Capri on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. It was painted and signed by the famous artist Constantin Westchiloff and is signed at the lower right corner. The simple wooden frame measures 36” x 28” which holds the 31” x 23” painting. The painting is in excellent condition - there is no evidence of repair, no holes, tears, or missing paint or major crazing. It has old mail heads affixing it to the board. The frame is obviously much newer and has a little slice of missing wood at the top left which is not visible when hanging. The painting needs a wire at the back for hanging and in my opinion would be better displayed in a period frame. That said it displays beautifully as it is. This painting cannot be shipped internationally.
