In lighting, sometimes I see very dark brown, other times black.Makers mark stamps to bottom of pot and lidn and handle. Wonderful vintage condition, no chips or cracks. Measures approx: 3" tall x 3-1/2" wide x 5-1/2" long (tip of handle to tip of tip of spout). Opening rim: 1-5/8" in diameter.
