Description: On offer are these very large vintage Chinese Hand Carved Carnelian Gold Vermeil (gold wash over Sterling Silver) hooks for pierced ears. Featuring two sided Carnelian carvings of fruit that are suspended from hand carved Carnelian circles that have a filigree gold vermeil floral design center. These earrings measure 2.5 inches in length x 11/8 width of the lower carving. The top round carvings measure 7/8 inch in diameter. In good vintage condition with a professional repair done to the back of one of the round earrings which can only be seen through a loupe, so we have priced these earrings accordingly. The Carnelian (often referred to as Red Jade) is a glorious translucent rich Orange color which has not been dyed or enhanced. Not hallmarked but they tested positive for sterling silver. Photo's taken in daylight so you can see the lovely color of the Carnelian. Weighing in with a combined weight of 33.1 grams. A must for your earring collection if you love huge earrings.
