Description: A vintage cannetille filigree butterfly brooch in sterling silver with a gold wash. Brooch is from the 1960’s and has blue, orange and yellow enamel detailing on wings. It’s in excellent shape generally owing to the sturdy support bar that houses the pin back. Brooch is marked 925. Purity of gold plating is unknown but assumed to be 18 carat gold. Gold plating remains in good condition with some wear to the pin closure from repeated use. Brooch weighs approx. 4.68 grams. A note on vermeil (gold plated sterling silver): Vermeil jewelry is made of sterling silver coated with a purity of gold that is resistant to tarnish (often 18k - 22k).
