This is a classic Singer featherweight model 221 sewing machine.This machine carries the Serial Number AM075075 which dates it to around 1955. The condition of this machine is very good, the paint is still shiny,the decals are in excellent condition as well.We plugged the machine in and runs, but a good lubrication servicing may be required. Also the potentiometer contacts on the foot pedal may need to be cleaned. But other than that, this Featherweight is a beautiful example of this sewing machine type. The case lacks the top tray of earlier models, but it does have a clever slide clamp to store the pedal securely in place. The singer buttonholer attachment dates to around the 1948-50. It comes with its original instruction booklet and five cast metal buttonhole patterns.There is also a box of assorted singer foot attachments (See Picture) Thes Singer Featherweights are sturdy, built like tanks, metal machine designed to survive the test of time. And this one is a great example of this. If you are a collector, or if you plan to put this machine back into service, it will be a great addition to your sewing studio.
