Description: Vintage 16" Replogle Globe, 1966, 2 way swivel base. This is a BIG globe (most of the 16" globes are floor, or are on wood bases). It is a table top globe on a 2 way swivel that is on a metal base that has faux wood grain finish (very 60's). I have this dated as 1966 by the presence of Basutoland in Africa. I used to collect globes - I loved this globe for it's size (the perfect backdrop in a collection), and for the hue of blue it is - it's sort of an 'aqua'. It has minor scratches and abrasions (visible in photos, the last 2 photos show the most significant). The lacquer over the globe has some yellowing (which give it that retro color) and crazing.
