According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated December 17, 1999, the order of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine dated December 21, 1999 No. 115/1/0500, the order of the commander of the 32nd Army Corps No. 07 dated March 27, 2000, the 10th Brigade of the National Guards of Ukraine was included in the 32nd Army Corps of the Southern Operational Command of the Ground Forces. During the Russian invasion, the 501st OBMP took part in the defense of Mariupol. At the beginning of April, half of the battalion was captured. In January-February 2023, the restored battalion took part in battles in the Donetsk direction.
