Description: The Gospel Echoes, The Gospel Echoes (c. 1970s)Pinebrook Recording Studio PB 1009 (Self-Released) If you collect Christian and gospel private-press records, then you've almost certainly heard the name of the Gospel Echoes. There were something like two dozen different vocal groups and church choirs that self-released LPs under that moniker in the 1960s and '70s. Indiana alone had at least four acts that performed called the Gospel Echoes around that time—this quartet being one of them. The exact year of this untitled / self-titled LP is unknown, though my guess is sometime in the early 1970s. It was recorded at Pinebrook Recording Studio in Alexandria, which was used by many evangelical acts and small record labels and the back of the sleeve lists a PO box in Kirklin, Indiana (pop. 710). The vinyl is VG+. The album sleeve has wear along edges and corners and a 3" split at the top.
