REALLY RARE AS IT HAS A DATE FEATURE AT 12 O’CLOCK IN RED. SOLD WITH ITS ORIGINAL OGDENS OF HARROGATE/LONDON BOX. COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL ROLLED GOLD BUCKLE AND ORIGINAL STRAP. THE BUCKLE HAS INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE THE DATE FEATURE ENGRAVED ON IT!! WATCHES OF THIS ERA WITH THIS TYPE OF HISTORICAL SUPPORT ARE SO SO HARD TO FIND!! CASE: The 2 piece hinged snap back cushion case to this beautiful watch is solid fully hallmarked 9 carat gold. It has NO engravings on the case back. There are is only one light/shallow ding and only very light normal age related wear marks to the back. The case bezel and sides are in EXCELLENT condition showing light wear. The inside of the case back is numbered. I have gently polished the case and it is shining nicely. THE WATCH MEASURES approximately 3.0cms (30mm) IN WIDTH excluding the crown and 3.5cms (35mm) in total length including the lugs. It is fully hallmarked for 9 carat gold and dates to 1930 with a Birmingham Assay mark. DIAL: This stunning collectible watch has a FANTASTIC MINTY white dial. It is fully signed 'JR OGDEN & SONS HARROGATE' and ‘SWISS MADE’ at the bottom of the dial. It is in SUPERB original condition showing very little wear. (See photos) It has beautiful BLACK PAINTED Arabic numerals. It has a black outer seconds track which is in good condition. THIS WONDERFUL DIAL HAS A LOVELY AND VERY RARE FOR THE PERIOD DATE WINDOW AT 12 O’CLOCK. The numerals are in RED. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE ON A WATCH OF THIS AGE The dial has blued steel ‘pointer design’ steel hands with sub seconds which are all in excellent condition. The crystal is plastic and was replaced as the old one had gone brown. MOVEMENT: This is a beautifully finished original 15 jewels SWISS MADE crown wind and set movement. It is signed ‘YEOMAN’ AND ALSO MARLEY. It is also signed 'Swiss Made'. The movement has just been timed and oiled by my watchmaker and is in very good working order. The date moves on after two rotations of the dial as it should. It keeps time to within approximately -15 secs per day as tested over 24 hours and on a timegrapher. The crown may be original and is in excellent condition. BAND: This is the original strap that came with the watch when I bought it. It has good age to it and is brown in color. The strap has its original ROLLED GOLD buckle fitted to it. THE BUCKLE HAS INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CHANGE THE DATE ON MONTHS WITH 31 DAYS IN THEM (ASTOUNDING!) The watch and band measure a total of 9 inches in total length. BOX: This watch also comes with its original STUNNING LOOKING fitted watch keeping box. The box is burgundy leatherette in color and has a few various signs of wear and tear for its age. It is FULLY SIGNED for The supplying jeweller Ogdens of Harrogate. The hinges are fully intact and the inside is blue velvet and white chiffon with the chiffon showing some light marks browning. It measures14.2cms (142mm) in length by 5.0cms (50mm in width).
