The pieces are by a high-end European English designer, with a delicate pattern engraved on each piece. Each piece has the PL initials of the designer stamped on it. It appears that it was made, based on our research, in approximately the late 1800s in England.The blades have the name Sheffield on them. So it appears that the silver maker or designer hired Sheffield as they were one of the highest quality blade makers around, and they made the blades for the knives with Sheffield's imprint on it. The pieces all have not only the marking of the silver maker and high-end designer PL but also have the 925 sterling silver mark stamped into the piece.
