Recorded following the death of Billy Corgans mother and in the wake of his divorce, the record was enthused with a darker aesthetic than much of the bands earlier work. The group also modified its public Image, shedding their alternative rock look for a more subdued appearance. Although Adore received favourable reviews and was nominated for Best Alternative Performance at the Grammy Awards, the album had only sold about 830,000 copies in the United States by the end of the year. It nonetheless sold three times as many copies overseas. The band began a seventeen- date, fifteen-city charity North American tour in support of Adore, donating 100% of ticket sales to different local charity organisations at each stop. They also played fourteen dates overseas and in Canada, one of which, on 19th July, was at the Chum City Building in Toronto, the headquarters of Bell Media. This LP features the full show in its entirety. Smashing Pumpkins put on an extraordinary performance, playing tracks from their new record alongside a host of fan favourites from previous albums. Also included on this release are two bonus tracks from the Smashing Pumpkins set at Neil Youngs Bridge School Benefit show in 1997, where they performed alongside Marilyn Manson. - Tracks 1-10 from a live FM broadcast recorded at The Chum City Building, Toronto, ON, Canada, 19th July 1998. - Tracks 11-12 from a live FM broadcast recorded at The Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, CA, 18th October 1997.
