Description: Up for sale is a SHAG 13-color hand-pulled serigraph entitled, "Palm Springs Weekend” from 2003. The print measures 20.5” x 28” (approx 52cm x 71cm). This piece is one of a handful of images that SHAG has produced which emphasize Palm Springs subject matter. The serigraph is signed by SHAG and is individually numbered. This particular copy is a rare Artist Proof from the Archival Edition, and like all proof prints, it was never issued with a certificate of authenticity.* The serigraph is in MINT condition. It has been stored flat with acid-free materials in a smoke-free/pet-free home. It has never been framed, displayed or rolled. Thank you and good luck! ---> *A note about the Archival Edition: During the production of a serigraph, the artist will typically pull copies from the print-run and personally inspect the artwork to assure quality control. If the edition consists of 300 prints, for instance, the artist will often pull one print for every 30 that are in production (10% of the overall print run). These are Artist Proofs (A.P.). The person actually printing the serigraphs will also pull prints for purposes of quality control, usually half the number of Artist Proofs (about 5% of the print-run) and these prints are Printer Proofs (P.P.). These 'proof' prints (along with Studio Proofs, Test Proofs, Color Test Proofs and Publisher Proofs) are part of the Archival Edition and are never officially meant to be a part of the commercially-released edition of prints available in the primary market. However, if the demand is high enough, prints from the Archival Edition often find their way into the secondary market once copies from the regular edition are no longer available. Since these proof copies generally reside in the personal collection of the artist or the printer (and due of their scarcity), they are often acquired at a higher premium, especially because of their close association to the printer or the artist. Since 'proof' copies were never meant for commercial circulation, they are not accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. However, these proof prints maintain the *exact* same level of image quality, color saturation and attention to detail as the commercial edition and are identical in *every* way. All copies are signed, appropriately numbered by the artist and are authorized for circulation.
