Description: This is a rare Schuco Yes/no Tricky Bear from the 1950s. It was made in Germany by the Schreyer Company. It is made of a metal frame covered in yellow/tan mohair fur. The eyes have light brown irises and black pupils. The stitching on the nose and mouth are fully intact. This bear measures 5 inches in length when legs are extended. The arms head and legs are jointed at the shoulders, hips and neck. Manipulating the tail side to side or up and down causes the head to nod or turn, saying "yes and no". The head is slightly wobbly but firmly attached, the wobbly nature is likely normal as it needs to be able to move freely for the yes/no action. The tail mechanism works well, as do the jointed limbs. These mechanisms are solid and functional. The tail, where the owner would touch in order to move the head is still covered in fur, it does have a seam where the fur is connected, and the tip of the tail has a slight metal protrusion. To sum it up: This bear is about 75 years old. For its age, it is in Excellent condition. The head is slightly wobbly, but secure. The joints for arms and legs are tight and secure. There is no damage to the mohair fur, the tips of ears might be slightly thinner than the body, but this may be attributed to the curvature of the fur in that area. The tip of the tail does have a slightly exposed tip of the metal that is used to turn the head. The bow around the bears neck is faded and a bit tattered.
