Description: St Sarah Kali and the 3 St Marys of the SeaSingle Decade Rosary This pocket rosary has a beautiful and fascinating medal which was made in France! The large medal is 1-1/4" diameter, is bright silver-toned and has St Sarah Kali on one side and "Saintes Maries de la Mer" on the other. The 2" tall silver-toned crucifix was made in Italy; the chaplet was designed and handmade by me in the USA. All eleven beads are 8 mm, smooth, round, natural, genuine semi-precious gemstones. The ten Hail Mary beads are alternating Amethyst and Rose Quartz and the single Our Father is a Blue Adventurine. Chaplet is about 11-1/4" long and comes gift boxed and with the following: St Sarah Kali prayer cardSaintes Maries de la Mer prayer card (in English)a gift bag and tissue paper for gifting Carry pouchRosary pamphletDivine Mercy pamphletThe 15 Promises of Mary card The three "Marys" referred to are St Mary Magdalene, St Mary Salome, and St Mary of Clopas, who were the three women who found the empty tomb that first Easter morning. According to the tradition, when the persecution of Christians began in Judea, the women escaped by setting sail on a small boat, possibly with a few others. They landed on the coast of France and began to convert the people they found there, many of whom were Romani. St Sarah Kali may have been an Egyptian servant of St Mary of Clopas who sailed with them. A variation of the story is that she was a Romani woman who helped the three saints to land and was their first convert. Either way, St Sarah has been adopted by the Romani people as their patron saint. There is a church dedicated to the "Three Marys", which houses their relics, as well as a famous statue of St Sarah. It is located in a town which is named "Les Saintes Maries de la Mer" and is traditionally the place where they landed their small boat.
The prayer cards which come with our rosaries, medals and pictures are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed in full color on nice quality paper. Although they are not like the usual smaller professionally printed prayer cards, most of our customers prefer them since they are like a pamphlet with 4 "pages" and several images, prayers, patronages and often other information about the saint or Catholic devotion.
