Description: Four faces adorn this effigy vessel. Each image is circular with punctured eyes and applied evencly around the body of the piece. The vessel is slipped black, which may indicate that a graphite-based paint was used. This piece was recovered from the ground in Mississippi County, Arkansas. It then remained in a private collection housed in Greene County, Arkansas. It may be approximately dated between 1400 and 1650 CE. "Nodena" refers to the archeological site from which the vessel was recovered as well as the Nodena people who occupied the location. It stands 5.75" tall.
