Description: Rare (c1960) Restrike $5 J.J. Conway & Co. ~ BASHLOW ~ NGC High Grade 3 Piece SetPLEASE VIEW PHOTOS TOKEN BACKGROUND:Robert Bashlow copper restrike circa 1960-61 of the J.J. Conway & Company $5 gold piece: Pike's Peak, Colorado. — J.J. Conway & Co. briefly produced gold coins in 1861 at Colorado's Georgia Gulch to provide a uniform coinage during the gold rush there.—————There are only four overall issues from Parkville, Colorado; the four varieties of the J.J. Conway $5 gold issue restrikes by Robert Bashlow (silver, brass/goldine, copper and aluminum). The complete collection resides in this collection with exception of the aluminum variety where just 1 is believed to exist. Unfortunately, this issue appears to be unattainable. ———-As of 03/2024, an example at the top of NGC’s population report for all three of the attainable varieties (silver, brass/goldine and copper) are included in this collection. Therefore, a complete TOP POP set has been assembled which I am very proud to offer. - Pritchard PA750-5/CMT P1930 (Type I: Silver): 75+ Known (NGC MS-68: TOP POP)- Pritchard PA750-5a/CMT P1930a (Type II: Brass/Goldine): 75+ Known (MS-67: TOP POP)- Pritchard PA750-5b/CMT P1930b (Type III: Copper) 75+ Known (NGC MS-68 RD:TOP POP)- Pritchard PA750-5c/CMT UNL (Type IV: Aluminum) 1 Known (N/A)
