Redoute (1759- 1840), a painter and botanist from Belgium, was known for his watercolors of roses, lilies and many other flowers at the Chateau de Malmaison. Often referred to as "the Raphael of flowers", Redoute has been considered the greatest botanical illustrator of all time. Note: These beautiful book plates have been gently removed from the out-of-print book and may have a light rough edge, which will not hurt the quality of the print. The back side is blank.
