Description: This listing is for an authentic vintage sample of antique corn planter check row wire. This wire features a Byron Phelps patent dated December 13, 1881. This trip is called "Phelps' Cast Iron Large (or Heavy) Bell" by collectors. (ref. Goedert & Greer #226). This trip or knot is made of cast iron with a loop on each end for tie wire. There are at least seven variations of this bell...... some scarce.. Sample is at least 18" in length. Trip is well centered in sample. Wire is in good used condition. This sample of antique corn planter wire is absolutely old and authentic and sells with no reserve. Shipping will be $4.50, within the United States.
