This was used in various steam locomotives including shifter, booster, little 6, big 6, Pacific, mikado, decapod, Berkshire, Hudson etc. this one came out of a 4-6-2 pacific and has the longer wire for the larger steam locomotives. You can shorten the wire if you’re going to run it on a smaller steam locomotive. It bench tested fine and did not overheat. I put a few drops of Labelle 108 on the armature shaft. Light works too.
