McKee Chalaine Blue 9" Mixing Bowl Depression Glass Kitchenware RARE Robin's Egg

Description: Among the RAREST OF THE RARE, I offer you a chalaine blue mixing bowl manufactured by the McKee Glass Company of Pennsylvania during the 1930's. The color is what makes this amazing bowl particularly rare - this lovely robin's egg blue or "chalaine" blue as the company called it!! I identified the amazing bowl in the excellent reference book "Kitchen Glassware of the Depression Years" by Cathy and Gene Florence (copyright 2009, 7th edition). It is shown on page 60 on the top row to the left - a 9 inch mixing bowl. It is really difficult to locate pieces in this beautiful color - in fact, I have never had this mixing bowl before in this color!! This is the largest bowl that you can find in this color so this will become the STATEMENT PIECE of your collection!! As stated, this mixing bowl measures 9 inches across the top and stands just shy of 4 1/2 inches tall. You have probably seen a million white bowls like this or maybe even some yellow but probably never a blue one! The overall conditon of this bowl is EXCELLENT. If you run your finger around the outer edge, there are one or two places where you might catch your fingernail but there are no definite chips. If you run your finger around the inner edge, it is very smooth. Around the inside walls of the mixing bowl toward the bottom you will find some dark marks / lines where a beater / mixer was used - see the photos. The outside is GORGEOUS!! There is a mold mark on the bottom but no company mark that I can see. The person that previously owned this had three little felt circles (like feet) on the bottom- probably to hold the mixing bowl in place while in use.
