Original Time-Life Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the News Series of Documentary Shorts called THE MARCH OF TIME. The series of newsreels originated in the offices of Time Magazine and was produced from 1935 until 1951. By the time that the last episode had been edited, it is estimated that over 10 million feet of newsreel footage had either been shot by the producers or gleaned from other producers. At its peak popularity the series was seen each week in over 500 theaters in the U.S. Location actualities and dramatic recreations, along with the narration of Westbrook Van Voorhis branded the March of Time with a "quality" approach to news reporting. Of course, there were other, competing newsreel products, including Pathe News and Fox Movietone News. But it was The March of Time and Van Voorhis intonations that Orson Welles chose to imitate in CITIZEN KANE. This one sheet poster is from an episode concerned with Argentina's neutrality stance during World War II. The poster is folded in fine plus condition. Scarce.
