Description: Lot of 5 Louisa May Alcott hard cover blue books with silver dust jackets as shown. They are Grosset & Dunlap - editions are dated anywhere from 1911-1928, and they have bookplates indicating they belonged to my mother as a girl in 1944, so they are probably 1930s - early 1940s. The pages are all quite browned and "soft" - they all feel like wartime pages - a couple of them do state that they are in fact war time editions Jo's Boys is slightly taller than the others, and has a different graphic inside the cover and a full color frontispiece, unlike the others. There is some wear and tears and stains to the dust jackets as shown. Some of the books have some staining on the covers and pages, and a couple have worm holes. (The covers not shown are all in nice shape.) But overall still in decent shape. All have personalization or a bookplate inside covers. No major rips, creases, missing pages. Bindings are all intact. They do smell like musty old books. Included: Little Men Jo's Boys Rose in Bloom Jack and Jill An Old-Fashioned Girl These belonged to an elderly collector who passed away.
