Japan Blue jeans Momotaro RJB1400 baker chino pants, size M (fits 31)

Description: For sale here is a pair of pants from the Japan Blue jeans label. Japan Blue is one of the lines manufactured by Rampuya, the same company that does the Momotaro label. Both labels are very strongly jeans and indigo oriented, producing exclusively in the Kojima area of Japan, although the Momotaro label is probably more widely known. Japan Blue focuses mostly on jeans and denim jackets, but the same high quality production standards are still very much there, as are the really detailed and unique fabrics. These pants are called “baker pants tapered” and are actually an exclusive collaboration with the Rococo shop in Japan – they are only available from Rococo and are not for sale outside of Japan. Fabric is 100% cotton, what Rococo calls a “cotton back satin”, aiming to mimic the type of cotton used in military uniforms in the 1950s and 60s. Knit is pleasantly uneven and shows a lot of character and texture. The fabric is sulfur dyed, creating an uneven feel to the dye. The sulfur has aging characteristics similar to denim, where it should slowly fade and develop with use. Construction is one of Rampuya’s strong points in my opinion, where they always build their piece super tough. All seams use tough chain stitching, and these pants should be able to take a beating pretty well. Silhouette is one of those “straight tapered” type fits, where the top half fits fairly straight, while the leg tapers down below the knees. Features a Rococo shop tag on the interior to denote the collaboration. Size is labeled a medium and fits a 31” waist well. I measure the waist 31”, inseam at 28”, rise at 9” and opening at the bottom of the leg at 7”. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
