Description: Holiday China Plate Hand Painted by CBT Pink Wild Roses Gold 1950-1960's Germany Exquisite Decorative PORZELLANFABRIK ARZBERG 10 1/8" PLATE, PINK WILD ROSES w/GREEN LEAVES, from Germany Hand Painted & Signed Helen Stelzenmuller 1954 DESCRIPTION: This features a beautiful large spray of pink wild roses with green leaves, buds and thorny vines. This is hand painted by a talented artist and is signed on the back of the plate CBT. The smooth rim is trimmed in a wide, double band of gold. There are grey and light brown ghost leaves to give depth to the painting. The washes fade from a light yellow to blue. These really make the well executed flowers and leaves that stand out. CONDITION: The condition of this plate is superb. We can find no defects or damage. There is no rubbing to any of the gold on the rim. There are no utensil marks. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or hairlines. Please refer to the photos to see how classically beautiful this is. DIMENSIONS: The plate has a diameter of 10 1/8" and a height of 1 1/16". HISTORY/MARKS: By using a bright light source shining through the plate from the front side, you can see the manufacturer's mark that was covered by the importer's mark. This was manufacturered at PA Porzellanfabrik Arzberg in Arzberg, Bavaria, Germany. The mark on this item is cited by the website marks4ceramics as mark#1 and was used from 1887-2014. The factory was established in 1927 and became part of Hutschenreuter AG in 1972 and are still in business today. The black overstamp importer's mark is Holiday China V Made in Germany. This mark was used in the 1950’s-1960’s. This makes the circa for this beautiful plate to be 1950's-1960's. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description.
