Description: For sale is a large, hinged and handmade, wooden folk-art Russian (USSR) trinket box. It depicts a peasant woman in a field of flowers with a rustic house in the background. It measures 6" by 8 1/2" by 1 5/8" deep. It is stamped on the inside of the lid but the stamp is illegible. The box is in good vintage condition with some minor scuffing, as for example on the back. The hand-painted scene on the lid is is unusually good condition. My guess is it dates to the middle of the 20th century.
