The neck is freshly lemon oiled and it's a good one: this is a 60s profile Les Paul neck so it's reasonably slender but not twig-like (thing 61 Reissue) or stupidly fat (think some of the SG Classics). No sticky nitro neck, either, it's totally smooth.Action is very low, neck is straight, everything works as it should. You couldn't ask for a nicer SG.You can certainly find cheaper ones but I've had a few SGs since the 1970s, including ones where they were called a Les Paul, and you can tell when you've got a good one as soon as you start playing it.In my view, I'd rather have a good one instead of a dud you don't really like.
