The ear wires are sterling silver with genuine green turquoise nugget bead accent beads. This is a newly made item created by Brook in The Thicket Jewelry in Anna, Illinois.Indian head pennies were real American currency. The coin was designed in 1859 by James B. Longacre. It is a representation of an Indian princess. In 1860 the coin was modified on the back side from the original laurel wreath design to an oak wreath with a small shield at the top. This penny is composed of copper (.880) and nickel (.120) and it was coined at the Philadelphia Mint. Production of it stopped in 1909.
