Description: For sale is a NEW and COMPLETE SET of ALL 17 Lesney Matchbox “Cars of Yesteryear” for the year 1978. I purchased each and every one of these models NEW in 1978 (44 years ago) from retail stores in the area where I lived. The one and only time they were removed from their boxes was at the time I purchased them, only for inspection in the store to assure that I got the most perfect example the store had of each model. (This is why I have not removed them from their boxes to take pictures for this posting) The BOXES are included and have no or little shelf wear. The cellophane plastic covers are unmolested and in the same condition they were when purchased new. In shopping, I used the “Matchbox 1978 Catalogue” (included in this sale) for the complete list of the models produced at that time by Lesney Matchbox and checked off each one as I purchased them. I have included the ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPTS for each model purchased with the exception of four (4) that are missing receipts (Y-5, Y-12, Y-14 and Y-15) ☹. I have color coded the models to the receipts they belong to with removeable colored stick-on dots and labeled the 4 missing receipts with a blue stick-on note. Some of the models have the stores price label on the box.
