Description: Rare Presentation Timepiece E. HOWARD & Co. BOSTON - Weight Driven #95 - BANJO CLOCK Circa 1981 Factory Stamped Label Inside RARE E. Howard #95 - ALL Original HISTORY Purchased from Original Owner, prvt estate 2008 by father, an expert timepiece collector who aquired & regularly maintained only fine, original antique & vntg clockworks, primarily German & American made timepieces; i.e., wall, mantle & pocketwatches. DESCRIPTION ▪ Immaculate Case - a rich, warm reddish-brown Mahogany case, solid woods throughout. Exterior has a handsome, fine satin finish. ▪ Clock case is original, has not been refinished, no past repair nor in need of any. . ▪ Original glass throughout: eglomise, geometric reverse hand painted panels having highly stylized, profuse gold gilt throughout accenting the pastel green. ▪ Extremely handsome complimentary green & gold color display combination ! ▪ 1 piece Gilt Eagle Finnial▪ Enamel over Zinc Dial, original Baffles ▪ Original Howard Wind Key ▪ Extra Seat Ring, authentic Howard in bag▪ Height - 42" inches x 11" W X 3.5" D ▪ Dial - 8" diameter▪ Weighs approx. 30 - 35 lbs, heavy ▪ Door sits firmly in place - see photos ▪ Latch works great, both at bottom door & brass crystal ring top release ▪ Original hardware throughout; very clean ▪ Stunningly Beautiful. Take a good look at the exceptional pristine condition, even the gold color fancy brass side plates/banners remain tarnish free. VERY well cared for. Interior Movement: unable to open dial backing - fear of accidently breaking glass prevents; clock is quite heavy. No reason to believe all movements, brackets & weight(s) are anything less than authentic originals knowing my father's dedicated commitment to thoroughly vetting authenticity as his prerequisite considering any such purchase. Recent Reliable Running Order This clock was running, in fine, accurate working order until removed (due to painting) well covered & stored, undisturbed in an unused guest bedroom; never rehung the last several years. Fortunately I just sold an E. Howard Bi-Centennial & therefore able to rehang this clock (very carefully) from bed to wall, 2 ft away. Hence, the detailed photo's background variations. Not currently tested for operation; not a clock expert, but learning. Yet unable to find a comparable on internet with these uniquely desirable display colors, large size & pristine aesthetics' cond - truly a RARE Howard opportunity. These don’t come up often. 1 for parts & pieces on eBay currently at $1700/obo w/broken glass, etc., another complete but w/replaced finial for a BIN of $6200 & $1400 ship fee. This rare clock retails at $7500 in this condition. Own a piece of E. Howard History & enjoy the working beauty of this pristinely stunning vintage quality clock.
