Description: Made circa early 1970s, This vintage fashion scarf is an excellent example of the textile designs produced by the Design Works of Bedford Stuyvesant. Established in 1969 at the suggestion of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and designers Doris and Leslie Tillett and with funding from the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, Design Works of Bedford Stuyvesant produced African-inspired designed for textiles, fabrics, housewares, and fashion accessories. The vintage scarf does not have a fabric content label. It feels like acetate. The vintage scarf is in good condition showing light wear consistent with its age and use.
