Description: An Antique Miracle Pretty Little Wall Clock. This is very rare. This black-dial example is a special clock and is coveted by collectors. This case design features six wooden finials. All are decoratively turned. The front and sides of the case are fitted with glass panels. The side windows allow additional light into the interior of the case. The front door is also glass. Through this, one can view the dial and the pendulum. Gong holder of incredible beauty made of silver-plated bronze. The distinctive black background sets this model apart from the more common white dial versions. The graphics are executed in argent paint. This fine example was made circa 1840-1860. Most likely this piece was made in France by French watchmakers. Maybe this Japy Frères & Cie. Since there are no marks, it is difficult to determine the manufacturer.
