Description: Penn Antique Restoration Penn Antique Restoration Pair of Antique "Stanley" Chrome/Steel Door Hinges4"x4" + Screws! Rare, heavy-duty, antique door hinges made by, "Stanley Mfg. Co.," of New Britain, CT around the first half of the previous century. Each hinge is made of solid, heavy, thick steel. Originally, all hinges were chrome plated, but much of the plating wore off over the years leaving them with a nice, distressed finish. The degree of plating varies from hinge to hinge, see the 2 group photos to compare. We removed the hinges from 3 heavy, Art Deco style doors that we salvaged from NYC. At the point of salvage, the hinges were painted and dirty (see last photo). Since then, we removed the paint, and cleaned them to the best of our ability. Considering their age, the hinges are in great condition. They all have the typical nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on old, used hinges, but there are no breaks, cracks, bends, or gouges. We greased the insides of the knuckles before sliding the pins back in. Now, the hinges open and close easily and most of the pins slide out with minimal effort. There are new no hinges available today that are this well-made and heavy-duty. Today's steel can't compare to the steel produced during the time these hinges were made. Dimensions: 4"W x 4"H (measurement of both halves of hinges when open, and not including the ball finials) Shipping: · U.S.: FREE! · Canada: $12.99 · Asia, Australia & Europe: $19.99 · Other international buyers please email us for a quote.
