Description: Offered Here is an antique/vintage Chinese Silk Stevengraph tapestry depicting Beihai park with the White Tower in the background. The stevengraph measures approx. 12 1/2" by 7 3/4". Du Jinsheng(1897-1943) was a famous Chinese silk Industrialist. He founded the Du Jinsheng Silk Weaving Mill in 1922. This fine silk tapestry was made by the Du Jinsheng factory of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.Du Jinsheng received wide acclaim at the Philadelphia International Expo in 1926 and a Gold medal for a brocade landscape. Please view and enlarge photos to further aid in description. I have also shown some close-ups of the fantastic tight weave. I will ship flat with cardboard backing.
