Description: New old Spare or good take-off parts for the Lee Enfield No1 mk3 and associated derivatives for British 303, No2Mk4 and 410 Smooth Bore where standard parts are used (ask for details) - Ishapore 2A and 2A1 in NATO 7.62x51mm where indicated. This listing is a selection of parts that are allowable to be sold in the 48 continuous states only though eBay - these parts will not constitute a firearm when assembled but will help you finish your existing device. The parts include butt plates, sling swivels, bands, front sight protectors, rear sights, safety catches, ejector, extractor, bolt heads, trigger guards, magazines (all 10 rounds or less), wooden furniture and the required screws, clips, pins and other hardware to mount them. All components include fasteners / screws and the screws are available individually where indicated - these are the Enfield thread types and sizes - not interchangeable with Lee Enfield No4 and No5 BA "standardized fasteners" (I try to keep these separate). All components are of British manufacture (Enfield lock or similar) unless indicated - Ishapore (India) / Lithgow (Australia) are typical called out as exceptions when the marks are clear and indisputable. NOS where indicated or else good used grade A,B or C - still very useable. The SMLE was the principle battle rifle for the Commonwealth before WW1 in Mk3 guise, simplified for manufacture mid war as the Mk3* and was in service for the start of WW2 - being equipped with the BEF and into Africa - when the No4 rifle was available the No1 was relegated for use in vehicles and second line uses. The Australians used the No1 mk3 (*) all the way through to Korea and the mid/late 1950s. The Commonwealth developed a .22 training rifle as the No2 mk4 using principle parts. Similarly the Ishapore converted single shot 410 muskets were converted from worn No1mk3s and principle parts are interchangeable. DP marked and grenade launching rifles (EY) are not part sources here. No1 / SMLE front sight blades were solid square bases (no angled rear side), typically with a curved front edge of the blade. I list these curved front edge blade as "No1". A later version for STEN and after that Ishapore 2A1 had a diagonal front edge. I list these as "2A". No1 Rifles were zeroed at 400 yards - this means that most have "0" or shorter front sight blades - more modern working zeroes (of 100 yards) see the use of increased height blades (in No4, STEN or A1 format as available). When adjusting zero for your rifle - add a taller sight blade when Point of Impact is high and a shorter blade when POI is low. For a 303 Mk7 rounds I have observed around 3 inches of elevation / depression change at 100 yards for each size of front sight (0.015”). For 308 (NATO 7.62 x 51) rounds I have observed 2 inches of elevation /depression. Ishapore 2A and 2A1 rifles were redesigned No1mk3 format to take the NATO 7.62x51mm round. Unique format parts to the Ishapore 2A / 2A1 are: Butt, Butt Plate (shared with another commonwealth rifle), Butt Plate Screws, Magazine, Nosecap - all other parts are interchangeable with the Lee Enfield No1mk3 series. Magazines are original fit and finish with light wear and storage marks. The Ishapore Butt is normal length with good color and nice markings - a small crack at the top of the butt plate location to fix. The Ishapore butt plate is corroded and dark - but is one piece! Ishapore butt plate wood screws are sold singly and 2 are required to mount the butt plate (one wood screw and one machine screw for the rifle that the butt plate is shared with). The applicable works of Ian Skennerton. Small Arms Identification Series (SAIS) are @50 pages (11" x 8.25") with laminated covers and stitched spines. In depth history, larger parts diagrams, key makes, marques and versions depicted. Handbooks are 34 pocket sized pages (5.5" x 8.5") with laminated covers - simple history, parts description and strip /reassembly instructions.
