Breguet Marine 5817 Black Dial "Big Date" w/ Bracelet AND Rubber Strap; Awesome!

Description: For your consideration, Dr4 Watches has on offer a truly gorgeous Breguet Marine stainless steel 40mm timepiece which is in excellent condition. This is a fantastic Breguet fine timpiece with the striking black dial that is a horological icon. The Marine line represents the sporting elegance reference from Breguet and can go head-to-head with high end Royal Oaks, Datejusts, Submariners, Overseas and Aquanauts. There are a lot of Breguet timepieces references on the market --- most are excellent value --- but this one is the classic stand-out high demand reference due to the black dial. The black dial references are generally preferred as they tie-in brilliantly with the expensive black rubber strap. The stainless steel and black colorway and classic extended lugs gives this one a ton of "wrist presence." I am in no hurry to move this one out as it is my favorite watch to wear to nice restaurants, bars and watch meet-ups. With that in mind, some additional considerations about this watch are… 1. This watch is wears large for a 40mm watch. I can recommend this watch for any male unless they have small wrists (say under 7 inches). Given the way the lugs flair out the watch still has an interesting and noticeable stance and that makes it suitable for most adult male wrists. My wrist is 7+1/4 inches and this works truly beautifully for me.2. The case construction and the dial in particular are very high-end --- haute horology with the individual face plate numbering, layered dial, big date and texture on the dial. These Marine models put a premium on legibility and elegance while still being a sporting watch at heart. Breguet makes beautiful timepieces of distinction and this one is no different. This is an immediately recognizeable fine timepiece that garners praise and generates discussion mainly due to the substantial lugs (a clear design icon element of the Marine line), gorgeous, complex bracelet and use of stainless and the stunning black dial on the case and bracelet. Durable enough to be an everyday watch but at its best in the finest restaurants and clubs in a fabulous city. 3. And this watch tells time in a classic three hand configuration that is high-contrast on a wonderful deep and layered black dial. The way the textured "sunburst propeller" and iconic Breguet hands brings visual interest to the dial and works wonderfully with this otherwise very traditional sport watch design. In sum, it brings tremendous versatility and as you can see is in excellent condition. 4. One of the primary selling points for this fine timepiece is the Breguet bracelet and the Breguet black rubber strap. For the bracelet, it is striking, complex and expensive to produce. It integrates beautifully with the timepiece and the bracelet, if bought seperately is over $5K and examining it in hand the quality and refinement is evident. See the last picture for an "in the wild" picture on the bracelet. The bracelet will fit up to a 7+3/4 inch wrist only with all of the links. I used to prefer it on the bracelet but I actually have been enjoying it sparingly on the Breguet black rubber strap. The match to the dial --- in color and ethos --- on the black rubber strap is wonderful. For instance, the wave keepers and wavy deployant clasp are just things of beauty. The rubber strap has only been used about 5 times --- at night at fine restaurants. Super premium and very comfortable and about as expensive as any rubber strap could be. I picked up the rubber strap on a recent trip to the Breguet store --- had to have it if only for a few wearings. 5. The high-contrast, color matched and framed Big Date is a wonderful complication... particularly for people like me who are a little older and do not want to squint to ascertain the day of the month. 6. The exhibition caseback allows one to see the gorgeous Brequet "manufacture" movement. It is elegant but still is also in keeping with the sporting design ethos for this one. 7. It terms of movmement this one is a Breguet in-house automatic movement. A supreme, wonderful and manufacture "engine" in this mechanical timepiece. Check out the gold rotor and the finishing of the movement components. Haute Horology on display with this one. 8. This will ship with all of the items that you see in the everything picture (#2) as well as the additional links that allow this to be fitted to a 7+3/4 inch wrist. I believe this is a wonderful "one watch" contender for a man of action --- particularly if they have normal sized wrists. It is interesting and classicly good looking to work with business clothes, a black leather jacket and absolutely in and around sports activities. This is one awesome versatile timepiece. We do not offer a warranty but will work with you to make any post-purchase repairs via advice on where to go and what to do (with no profit for us but paid for by you). Everything we sell is working fine for all functions when it leaves our facility (or more specifically the safe deposit box where our watches reside).
