We are petitioning Ebay to take action.Start your homebuilt grinder project off with a rock solid backing plate! Look at the flimsy bolt axles & puny bearings on imported parts, don't get ripped off! Foreign listings are deliberately written in poor English so that you have no idea what you're getting & when the part lands you can't even complain & say it's not as advertised! This listing: D-shaped backing plate for flat platten assembly, this one with even deeper reach for slack belt grinding (inferior products from others who try to imitate us have just about zero depth for slack belt grinding because they try to use as little as possible material to cut corners & save money). The plate is precision cnc cut from 3/8" steel. Wheel mounting holes are 1/2-13 precision tapped to ensure that axles are perpendicular to the plate. The centre mounting hole is 1/2" diameter, the slots for a flat platten mounting bracket are 1/4" wide & 6" apart, the u-shaped adjusting slot accepts a 3/8" bolt or stud. The axle holes are 10.5" center to center apart; you can easily mount an 8" long by 2-1/2" wide flat platten between the wheels for a large grinding surface (look in our Ebay store, we have various platens which simply bolt on). We include 2 grade 8 bolts, 3,5" long, 1/2-13 thread, with 4 nylon spacers, 2 1/2" washers & 2 half-nyloc nuts. With this listing we also include two of our 2" diameter, 2-1/4" wide top quality cnc turned tracking wheels with bearings (look at the puny little bearings in the wheels of some who copy us, cheap! They use Metric parts, hard to find replacements when you need them in the US). We also include our platen mounting Bikini L-bracket & hardware, easily bolt a platen of your choice to the bracket (see our available platen listings). The Bikini L-bracket is laser cut out of 3/16" steel. It is +- 8" long & 2" wide. The mounting holes are all 1/4" diameter; the ones on the front are 6" centre to centre. This bracket is much more rigid than pieces of angle iron commonly found on most amateur built grinders, it looks better too! These are the same parts that we use on our popular 2x72" belt grinders.
