Description: Antique Texas Lone Star Quilt, 1930sPresenting a cotton 8 Point Texas Lone Star quilt dating from 1930's and mostly hand sewn, and ALL hand quilted with some machine stitching on binding only. Backing is plain white cotton. A great country quilt.There are hand done stitching, throughout at 6 to 7 stitches to the inch. The quilt consists of star, diamond and grid quilting. Each diamond making up the star is quilted. This quilt is reminiscent of a very grand and regal period when quilters had time to skillfully finish a quilt.CONDITIONIs in very good, unwashed condition. This quilt is in good condition and in as found condition. Large water stains discoloration at right corner, one tear as shown in photos. The batting has a thin thickness. Hand sewn as well as machine stitched edge binding. Wear on outside binding edge. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTSThe size is a 89" x 86", with each diamond shaped piece measuring 4-1/2" in length and 2" in width. The quilt would work on a full / double sized bedWould look lovely on your bed, as a wall hanging, or, would make a great gift. Standard double bed is 54" wide x 78" long. Queen bed is 60" wide x 80" long.
