It was issued by the “Banco Da China” and dated December 8, 2003. Macau is both the most densely populated spot and the largest gambling center in the world. The oldest European settlement in the far east was in 1557 when China "rented" Macau to the Portuguese. It became the last European settlement in the far east and lasted until 1999 when the Portuguese left. The words “Dez” and “Banco” are holdovers from the Portuguese.
