1970-71 BUICK GS 455 RAM AIR AIR CLEANER SKYLARK GS

Description: DESCRIPTION OEM 1970-71 Buick GS Ram Air Air Cleaner Assembly in very nice condition. This assembly has been refinished to the original look of the 1970 cars featuring the four barrel Ram Air air cleaners. The base features a very clean interior, drain hole, correct Air Temperature Sensor, Dual snorkel inlets featuring new white-striped vacuum lines, GM licensed air cleaner service decal (BX=1970 HD), and a new breather filter. A new chrome lid augments the assembly, adding more pop to under the hood! The assembly is completed by adding a heavy duty air filter and period correct wing nut. The Ram Air adapter piece is in very good condition as well. The bottom cups are complete and present well. As a exceptionally nice value, an embossed 455 decal has been added to the Ram Air adapter, adding a very original appearance. To complement the entire assembly, an early production 1970 date code has been added. New correct foams are installed via the factory methodology as well, ensuring fresh air is channeled from the hood adapters in through the Ram Air assembly. As an added value, an OEM pre-heater elbow and clamp (Buick Specific), black paper aluminized pre-heater hose, and a GM licensed STAGE 1 decal is included (loosely installed- as an add-on if your car was so equipped) are included to make the installation nearly complete.This unit will not fit engines modified with a high rise intake manifold (i.e. Edelbrock Performer RPM) or with any type of non-factory carburetor spacer.As an added value, an original plastic Buick pre-heater elbow - replete with correct Buick Wittek tower clamp and new pre-heater tube - is included to make installation more complete. Important: you must use the 455 specific Y bracket for support; failure to do so will lead to cracking the ram air adapter!This assembly is in very nice condition and will enhance your restoration. APPLICATIONS This assembly will fit the following 1970-71 models :BuickGS 455*this will fit the GS 350 engines, but the foams are slightly shortly (won't compress as much) due to the difference in deck height, and requires a different GS350 Ram Air decal (not included). It will also fit the 72 models if the air pump has been removed; the 72 LH cup was triangular in order to provide clearance. FITMENTThe assembly will fit factory 4V Quadrajet OEM carburetors with the 5 1/8" flange. Note: this will not fit the 69 models due to differences in breather filter locations and style of pre-heater inlet connectioins. It will NOT work with a high rise intake manifold or a carburetor spacer - this changes the engine center height, creating early contact with the hood (and potential for cracking the Ram Air adapter).
