Description: 1944 Vintage Press Photo by U.S. ARMY PHOTOGRAPHER VIA ACME.War correspondent buried with military honors.A group of war correspondents carry the casket of Harry Poague, Minneapolis, Minnesota, war correspondent for the American Red Cross in New Guinea, to its final resting place in a military cemetery outside Port Moresby. He was killed in an airplane accident in New Guinea. Leading the procession are Lt. Col. James C. Crawson, Protestant Chaplain and Major Harold J. Barr, Catholic Chaplain, both of Los Angeles. Pall bearers are Harry Williams, Sydney Morning Herald; Dean Schedler, AP; Frank Frist, ACME; Jim Vine, Brisbane Courier-Mail; Robert J. Doyle, Milwaukee Journal and Thomas Shafer, ACME. Photo is Dated: January 11, 1944. THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC PHOTO, NOT A COPY OR SCANS. Photo Measures Approximately: 9 x 7 Inches. THERE ARE FEW MINOR CREASE MARKINGS.
