Description: From my collection: 19-inch antique doll made by J.D. Kestner, King of Dollmakers of Waltershausen, Germany. The 154 mold was made circa 1898 and was popular and sold as late as 1924 when it was listed in the Montgomery Wards catalog. (Reference Book: 500 Years of German Dollmaking, by Mary Krumbholz) Head marked: 9 1/2 154 DEPBisque: Her bisque shoulder plate is good all over with no cracks or chips to report. Brown sleep eyes with painted lashes, open mouth with 4 teeth, multi-stroke eyebrows, modern light brown wig, pate appears to be original. Note: The tip of the left pointer finger is chipped. I had never noticed this until I undressed her and took pictures (please see photos). Kid-leather body: After many years of age and play, the kid-leather body has had repair done on it over the past century, but is in overall good condition with the repairs. There is stitching in the shoulders and white leather has been placed over the old leather below the knees and over the cloth lower legs (please see photos) Clothing: Vintage/antique clothing consists of: Dark ecru high-waist lace dress with pink satin ribbon at bodice. The dress snaps in back. Under include vintage antaloons are pin-tucked muslin with lace edge and an antique embroidered lace camisole that snaps in back. It is dingy and could use a soak in Retro-Clean. She had antique black long-legging socks and vintage taupe boots. No returns please unless I have misrepresented her in somehow in my description. Thank you.
