This image was admired and collected by Vincent Van Gogh - see the Van Gogh letters at the Van Gogh museum - https://vangoghletters.org/vg/letters/let232/letter.html. This particular letter is from Vincent van Gogh to Anthon van Rappard, The Hague, Sunday, 28 May 1882. Part of it reads “I’ve found another two woodcuts for you, one by Miss Edwards and one by Green. The latter is particularly fine: a painter working on a shop sign while people watch, in the age of Louis xvi.” The print will be dispatched in a strong postal tube.
