He produced various atlases and special maps, also remarkable for the purity of the engraving and the accuracy of the information. His main work is his Universal Atlas: first published in 1820, in 36 maps. This atlas was gradually expanded by him and by Charles Picquet. Brue drew directly on copper (in Greek: cypros).
