Initially, the keyboard's date of 1979 seemed puzzling, given that the MX switches were first introduced in 1984. Further research revealed that Tatung, a Taiwanese company, might have used the Minguo calendar, suggesting the actual manufacturing year might be 1990. Every switch has also been tested for functionality and compatibility with a Kailh hotswap socket. Cleaning: Each switch has been carefully cleaned individually to preserve their unique characteristics formed over years of use, this ensures each switch retains its distinct feel and performance without any mix-up of the stem and bottom housing. Why choose vintage MX Blacks? These switches are highly prized for their unique sound and feel, attributes derived from the original Cherry molds used between 1984 and 1994.
